Welcome to 3/4S!
Welcome to the first term of the school year. We have quickly settled into school life after the summer break, and have already been working hard on our current topic of Extreme Earth. During our first week back, we enjoyed creating our own erupting volcanoes, which has inspired us to explore Extreme Earth further.
In 3/4S, we have an inspiring, exciting year planned, packed full of new opportunities to excel both in and out of the classroom. It’s certainly going to be a fun-packed and busy year, with lots to learn and enjoy.
This year, in 3/4S, we will learn through six different themes: Extreme Earth, Nottingham During the War, The Romans, Arctic and Antarctic, Night and Day, Settlements. We hope to have several trips to bring our learning to life, and will participate in many fun activities in school to inspire our learning.
Class 3/4S will have PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Always make sure you have your full PE kit in school on these days. Reading is the gateway to learning, and therefore it is very important that you read at home daily, and have your reading diary with you in school every day. Homework will be set on Fridays, to be handed in on the following Tuesday. Additionally, you must practice the times tables and your spellings every week.
Your help and support with reading, spellings and times tables is greatly appreciated, and should you require any advice or ideas about how to support your child with their learning at home, please do pop in and ask. Similarly, should you have any questions or concerns, our door is always open. We are always here to help and support.
We are looking forward to a fabulous Year!
