Our school priorities for the school year 2018-2019 are:

  1. To further increase standards in school particularly in writing
  2. To further increase standards in school by continuing to strengthen leadership across all subjects
  3. To embed our new curriculum with a focus upon developing children’s vocabulary

Do you think these priorities reflect your expectations of Bulwell St Mary’s C of E Primary School?

  • Yes
  • To be the best in Nottingham
  • Yes because I would be happy with the writing because my child’s writing is very bad
  • Defiantly
  • Yes and more
  • Absolutely

What would you like us to do better at school?

  • More swimming
  • Improve the variety of school meals
  • I believe you are working well and better for our children
  • Everything is fine
  • More notification on events
  • I personally would like to see exercises be the first activity in the morning
  • More help for children who need it
  • The school gives me information about events and activities sometimes a bit late
  • I am okay, no problems
  • Better communication between staff and plenty of notice for events/activities
  • Communication is poor. Just feel that notice for events and awards is always late notice so can’t get time off work to support our child or the school. Please could we have more notice
  • Communication – trips and events – what times etc for working parents
  • Give them more homework projects
  • Communicate properly and get parents involved
  • Sporting opportunities for girls
  • There seems to be a lot of different teachers taking the class throughout the week – this worries us in relation to constancy – but not sure if it is done for another purpose
  • More information of where my child is at in between parents evening
  • Bring back after school club
  • Overall happy
  • Nothing just continue with what you are doing
  • Identify the individual capabilities and encourage the children to use full potential
  • The behaviour of some children in the class can be distracting – maybe having stricter consequences when children misbehave
  • I would like to have more information (timetable) about his daily activities, learning what he does at school (Maths, English, Topic) so I can help him at home
  • Children being praised rather than disciplined all the time (fairer)
  • More after school programmes e.g Spanish
  • More support with homework – examples given of how you teach them to work things out such as math sums
  • To see class Dojo used more
  • Better support of adults at lunchtime – a lot of the poor behaviour I hear about from my daughter happens then I am not sure whether it has been dealt effectively by the lunchtime supervisors
  • I would like my child to have a little more homework
  • More help with reading and writing
