Bulwell St Mary's Primary and Nursery SchoolWhere Your Journey Begins

Welcome to 5S!

The children have come back to school with a fantastic attitude we can see many of them are determined to start the new year as they mean to go on. I am really looking forward to watching them mature and progress as the year goes on.

So far, we have talked about growth mindset and the importance of pushing ourselves to do the best we can. In English, we have been looking the life of Walter Tull, who was black footballer, suffered racial abuse and then went on to become the first black officer in the British army. The children have written a biography about his life. Over the coming weeks, the children will be writing about WW1 to help them understand the importance of the WW1. Please feel free to bring in any artefacts linked to the theme. In Math’s, we have covered place value and we are now working through the four operations.

Over the coming half term we will continue to look at the life of the Tudors. We have our trip to Wollaton Hall on 15th November to discover Christmas during the Tudor times. Please could you ensure that payments and consent forms are sent to the office asap.
