YR2 - Squirrels

Welcome to Squirrels    

In Squirrel Class, we are a friendly, enthusiastic, artistic, hardworking bunch, who take care of our friends and aim to achieve the best we possibly can! We try and follow in Jesus’ footsteps by helping others, caring for our environment and working together to make our school and community a great place to be.  

Our main objective is for our children in Squirrel Class to feel safe and happy in school and enjoy every day there are here.

 Reading, Home Learning Books and Phonics.

On Tuesdays we collect in Reading Diaries and books ready to read and change our books. We also give out Dojos each time we read at home, so please make sure diaries are signed. Please help support your child by spending 5 minutes a night to hear them read.

On Fridays, we send out our Home Learning Books. These will contain a small recap task to be completed at home. Please make sure this book is back in school by Tuesday ready for the following week.

Please help your child practice their phonics spellings as this will help them with their work in school 😊 We use the phrase ‘Say the sounds and read the word’ to help the children decode words tricky words.

PE

Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child has their kit in school on these days, with earrings removed.
