YR2 - Oliver Jeffers

Welcome to Year 2!  

In our Class, we are a friendly, enthusiastic, artistic, hardworking bunch, who take care of our friends and aim to achieve the best we possibly can! We try and follow in Jesus’ footsteps by helping others, caring for our environment and working together to make our school and community a great place to be.  

Our class is named after the author Oliver Jeffers - we love his books and get to read lots of them in Year 2!

 Reading, Home Learning Books and Phonics.

Please help support your child by spending 5 minutes a night to hear them read.

On Fridays, we send out our Home Learning Books. These will contain a small recap task to be completed at home. Please make sure this book is back in school by Tuesday ready for the following week.

Please help your child practice their phonics spellings as this will help them with their work in school 😊 We use the phrase ‘Say the sounds and read the word’ to help the children decode words tricky words.

PE

Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child is wearing their PE kits on these days and that they are not wearing any jewellery.
