Bulwell St Mary's Primary and Nursery SchoolWhere Your Journey Begins

YR6 - Malorie Blackman

Welcome to the Year 6 class page!

Hello from us!

Our class is named after the author Malorie Blackman. During the year we read some of her books and find out more about her life and work to share a love of reading with everyone.

As the oldest in school, we have very high expectations of behaviour so that we can set a fabulous example to the younger children in the school. Every pupil in Year 6 has a leadership role in school - ranging from little ones leaders to sports leaders to Take Care leaders.

What’s expected of Year 6 at home…

It is evidently proven that the best way for children to thrive and achieve is with a secure and consistent approach at school and at home!

It is expected that each week your child should:

  • Read at home at least 4 times a week – please remember to sign your child’s reading diary and ensure that the reading book and diary are brought back into school. We love to give out Dojos and reward children who read!
  • Times Tables practice on TTRS.
  • Complete any set home learning tasks by the due date set in class.

P.E:

PE days are currently a Tuesday and a Friday - children can come to school in their PE kits on these days.

Class Dojo:

We do update class Dojo frequently and it is a great way of communicating. Please keep checking for messages on there. If you have any concerns or worries please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Be on your guard; stand firm in faith; be courageous; be strong.”
